Spring is Here

We’re heading into Month 16 of the global COVID-19 pandemic in Kansas, and everyone is feeling a bit worn down — or, perhaps more accurately, exhausted.

To lift your spirits, we offer blossoms from the tall flowering trees behind the ECS Building and near the Power Plant, against a bright blue Kansas sky.

Need more than a two-dimensional representation? Consider stepping outside and engaging in some “forest bathing.”

As author Melanie Choukas-Bradley explains in her book on that topic, “If we are unable to travel even as far as our own workplaces, nature invites us to revel in her constant proximity.”

Onward to time in nature, copious supplies of vaccines, continued social distancing and masking, and moments of celebration and reflection as we head into the last weeks of the Spring 2021 semester.

Take care all —
