“Now that I live in Boston for grad school and Greta Gerwig’s 2019 adaptation of Little Women was just nominated for Best Picture, it seemed an ideal time to return to Concord and Little Women“: This week, as the awards season bestows accolades and throws shade at the most recent adaptation of Alcott’s Little Women, we feature a blog post from recent alum Macy Davis (BA ’19).
Macy is completing her M.A. in Children’s Literature and an M.S. in Library and Information Science at Simmons University in Boston. Her post, “A (Cold, Broke) Boston Girl’s Guide to ‘Little Women,'” takes us (back) to Concord, MA, to Alcott’s house and then to Gerwig’s film, offering a reminder how a return brings new insights and pleasures.
Macy’s post appears on her blog, Contextualizing the Classics. You can follow Macy on Twitter @bookishlybright.
